Portable traffic signals are the perfect alternative to risking the lives of public safety personnel when traffic lights are down due to storms and other natural disasters. Portable traffic lights just make sense when you start adding up the cost of "man-hours" and safety risks of putting police officers in harms way just to direct traffic. Let our lights do the work while your officers due their duty.
Assembly in the field of the remote control four way traffic signal is very simple and only takes a few minutes to complete.
The process begins with the base. This is carried separately from the mast and traffic light head unit. The base has four adjustable feet to accomodate most uneven surfaces. There is an optional wind brace that provides additional support and stability in windy environments. Once the base is on the ground. the first mast unit slips into the base and is locked in place with a quick-pin. Next. With the first mast pole in place, the easiest method is to unpack the traffic signal unit and slide it down onto the mast. With the light head in place, you can then snap on the plastic visors. If you will be installing green arrows, this is the time to do so. Each arrow head is self contained and mounts in place with two thumb screws. Once attached, the control cable is then connected to the signal head.
Now, with the traffic light body assembled, slip the unit off off the mast and set it down. Now install the mast coupler. Insert the last mast pole into the traffic signal. All that remains is to lift the signal head with the mast and slip it into the mast coupler. This is easily done by tilting the base and mast down so the signal head and mast will connect. Once in place, simply stand the unit up.
The last step is to place the batteries in the battery comparments and connect the cables. With this last step, the signal is ready to be programmed and put into operation.
